Hands-On STEM, Minds-On Innovation.
Founded in 2023, ICEA Robotics is part of the ICEA STEM Program, dedicated to sparking creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork in young innovators. Through hands-on learning and competitive robotics, students explore engineering, programming, and design while developing leadership and collaboration skills.
The ICEA Robotics Lab offers students project-based opportunities to explore how robotics can be applied across different fields such as rocketry, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. Through guided projects, students learn to innovate, experiment, and apply STEM skills to real-world problems, while building creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking for future challenges.
The ICEA VEX IQ Robotics Program gives students hands-on experience in designing, building, and coding robots using the VEX IQ platform. Participants work in teams to solve challenges and compete in local and state competitions, while building skills in STEM, teamwork, and leadership. Open to all levels, the program provides mentorship and a supportive environment for students to grow and succeed.
As a first-year, home-based high school robotics team working out of a garage and without a formal coach, Derek’s team was honored to qualify for the VEX Robotics World Championship—one of the most competitive events in the world—representing Region 4 in California. This achievement was the result of countless late nights filled with coding, building, and problem-solving, made possible by the incredible support of our families.
Now, Derek and his team are giving back by volunteering with ICEA to reach even more students, especially those from underprivileged communities in West Los Angeles. Their goal is to teach the fundamentals of robotics, help students join the ICEA Robotics Team, and nurture their interest in STEM.
To make this mission a reality, we’re asking for your support. Your donation will go directly toward equipment, materials, and registration fees—opening the door for more students to experience hands-on robotics education and participate in competitions.
